Thin Client Deployment - The 2006-2007 school year will be remembered as a watershed year for technology adoption at Inman. Inman was chosen by APS as a pilot for the deployment of over 400 thin-client classroom computers. As the result, Inman now has a student to computer ratio of almost 2-1 vs. the ~10-1 ratio of prior years. Our teachers are now armed with the weaponry required to provide our children unprecedented levels of differentiated instruction and advanced education.
Promethean Boards - During phased initiatives through Spring 2009, our Foundation will complete the fundraising, purchase and installation effort required to deliver Promethean white boards or other internet-enabled technologies to every Inman science, math, and social studies classroom. These Promethean white boards harness the power of the internet to create an engaging, interactive classroom environment.
Perhaps equally as important, Inman teachers now have internet access to content and lesson plans developed specifically to maximize delivery through this progressive medium. As the result, teachers are more efficient and student performance is elevated.
Testimonials/Success Stories/Links:
Kelly Schlagel, a top Inman teacher and early Promethean adopter, recently shared her experience with the new Promethean Boards:
“The Promethean interactive whiteboard has transformed the way I teach. During the short time I have been using the board, I have experienced profound changes in the way I approach instruction as well as the quality of work demonstrated by the students. I am amazed at the increased level of student participation in class. In particular, I have noticed my low achieving and attention-deficit students engaged and volunteering during instruction.”
